The Game Installation Directory Is Invalid Sims 4 Mac
How can I change the Install Directory of Games in Origin. Ask Question Asked 8 years. 'The game installation directory is invalid. Please select a different directory.' Since one of the last updates, you get a message about an invalid directory every time you open the Settings dialogue. It'll only go away when you reset the directory.

- Hello
The setting to change is to click the origin label at the top left of the screen. Then click ' application settings' from the drop down menu. Then click on the label tab that says installs, then change the directory there.

With Origin, if it's on C drive, all games installed via origin have to be on C drive.

Try creating a folder on the d drive, and name it sims 4. Then go to application settings in Origin and choose that folder to install the game to. Then see if that helps to fix the issue.

My Showcase thread https://forums.thesims.com/en_US/discussion/948861/rosemow-s-rooms-showcase - I agree with the above.. You need to create a folder in D drive first before installing the game.
You do not have to have the game on C drive, many many people have the game on D drive because of smaller hard drive size.
I usually just create a folder called 'My Games' then install the sims 4 to that folder.i7 6700K

That's not correct.
You can easily change the install path to a different drive.i7 6700K

Wait, where is it in my game?? - Hello
Your tray folder is in your Documents -electronic arts -sims 4 folder.
The build will be in your library section of the gallery. If you are finding it hard to see the build, make sure that you have ticked ' include cc content' in the advanced section of the filter in the gallery.
You can then go into build mode on the lot that you would like to place the home on, click the gallery button up on the right hand side of the screen, then find the home in your library and place the home in your game.

I still can't find them in my library. I put them in my tray folder, but they are in a folder inside the tray folder. Could that be why I can't find? - > @rosemow said:

- Do you have to unzip the files?#
Hello @beckyisrllybored .
Welcome to the forums If you are installing cc homes, you do need to unzip the files and place the files directly into the tray folder without the files being in any subfolders.
