Shockwave Games Not Working On Mac
Go to the StuffIt Expander Mac Downloads site. Click Stuffit Expander - Mac to head to the download for the program. Once StuffIt Expander is installed to your Applications folder, try downloading and installing your game again. Game crashing, freezing, not displaying properly, or showing an error?
All of Coolmath's games are functioning perfectly. If a game isn't working for you, there's a problem on your side that can probably be fixed. ALL browsers should be able to run these games.
1) If you CAN see the bouncing 'Coolmath' in the blue box above and your game looks like it's up and ready, but you can't get it to start, click your mouse on the game area. Sometimes the game just needs to know you are ready to play. If this box is working, but a some of our newer games are not, they might require the latest version of Flash, so you will need to update Flash to play those games.
2) If you CAN'T see the bouncing 'Coolmath' in the blue box above, then you probably need to enable, or install a program called Flash.
- If you are using Chrome, and it says 'Click to enable Adobe Flash Player', then click on the box and follow the instructions to enable the player.
- If you are using Chrome, and it says 'Adobe Flash Player is blocked', here's how to unblock Flash.
- Click on the little icon to the left of your web address in your browser navigation (between the Home button and www.coolmath-games.com)
- Find Flash in the menu that appears and change 'Block' to 'Always allow on this site'.
- If you are using a different browser, you may need to download or update Flash. You can get the latest version here: Adobe Flash Downloads
- If you've downloaded and installed Flash and things still aren't working, then you need to adjust your browser. If you are using Internet Explorer, and your browser warns you that it's blocked some 'active content' on Coolmath, go ahead and follow the directions to allow it.
If the above didn't help, then it may be an issue with your antivirus program blocking the content. Please try to change the settings of your antivirus program.
Problems with Saving Your Progress
If you are having problems saving your progress in Safari on Mac, you may need to adjust your browser settings. This process is a little different depending on your version of Safari and MacOS, but look for Preferences in your Safari menu.
- Open your Safari menu and click Preferences.
- Open the Privacy tab in the new window that appears.
- Uncheck 'Prevent cross site tracking' or select 'Always allow' next to 'Cookies and website data' (what you see depends on your version of Safari or MacOS)
Hope this helps!

You can change your display settings by right-clicking on the desktop and choosing Properties from the pop-up menu. Click the Settings tab in the Display Properties dialog box. If the setting indicated under Screen area is less than 800x600 pixels, move the sliders toward 'More' until the resolution meets our minimum requirements. - Locate your Web browser on your hard drive. Click once on the icon.
NOTE: You must locate the application itself, not an alias. - Choose Get Info -> Memory from the File menu.

Tips for troubleshooting Shockwave
Shockwave isn't loading properly. Is it the site or is my Shockwave Player not working?
In most cases, this is only a temporary connection issue. Trying again later should resolve it. If it persists, it's likely because Shockwave Player is only partially installed, damaged, or has a mix of components from different versions. Any of these situations can be fixed by uninstalling, then reinstalling the Shockwave Player.
You can download an uninstaller for Mac OS and Windows:
After you've uninstalled Shockwave Player, you can reinstall it.
I'm having trouble downloading Shockwave Player.
An earlier version of Shockwave Player is pre-installed with most popular Internet browsers. Sometimes, damage to the Shockwave Player that's already installed can prevent your upgrading to the latest Shockwave Player. This can usually be fixed by uninstalling, then reinstalling the Shockwave Player.

In some cases, it's actually the browser which is preventing the successful installation of Shockwave Player. In such instances, simply reinstalling Shockwave Player may not work. Reinstalling or updating the browser, then installing Shockwave Player should take care of this.
Other Issues
Due to a variety of reasons, there are numerous potential problems you may encounter. If you are having general problems connecting to the internet or keeping your connection, try one or each of the following:
- Disconnect from and reconnect to the Internet.
- Disconnect from the Internet, restart your computer, and reconnect to the Internet.
- Try connecting at a later time. Your Internet Service Provider (ISP) may be busy and can't allow more connections.
- Call your Internet Service Provider.
I have a Macintosh computer. When I tried to play one of the games on Shockwave, an error message appeared that said 'could not open application x.jsp plug-in is needed'.
You may need to increase the amount of memory that is allocated to your browser. Find and select your browser on your hard drive. Choose Get Info from the File menu. If you are using Mac OS 8.5 or later, choose Memory from the pop-up menu. Increase the Preferred size.
Sometimes I don't hear anything when I check out the titles at Shockwave. What can I do to hear sound at Shockwave on my Windows computer?
We've found that most sound issues are the result of an outdated driver for the sound card. Make sure you have the latest driver for your sound card. Sometimes, the sound issues are related to the way Windows handles sound. Windows prioritizes .wav sounds in the following way:
Applications playing .wav sounds will mask sounds played by other applications that are subsequently launched. You can work around this issue by closing Shockwave or Flash applications while you listen to RealPlayer, and vice versa. Upgrading to the latest version of Shockwave Player should resolve most sound issues.
Some of the multiplayer games seem to be missing from Shockwave.
